I don't draw nearly as often as I should {to heck with that "every day" rule!} so I developed a habit of making the most out of everything I drew. All but the most worthless doodles get saved and periodically reviewed {that part's important, too}.
Now, artists say this all the time, but it bears repeating. If you sketched or drew something - hang onto it! This is kind of like that "scrapbook of resources," only of your own drawings. You never know when you'll want it or accidentally be inspired by it. Sketches you did two years ago can begin to look like a good idea for something else tomorrow. It's also nice to reassure yourself that you've gotten better, and re-drawing an old sketch with your new skills can sometimes make for a great picture. Especially if the sketch was something you knew you just didn't have the skills to complete at the time.
It's also handy to have "extra" of anything you've done sitting around. At times when I have to do a picture and I'm strapped for start-to-finish time, it's handy as heck to have a fairly decent sketch sitting around from six months ago. All you need to do is tweak a few things and clean it up. I've done this once or twice already when I needed some "Extras" stuff for my webcomic - they aren't new drawings to me, but they're new to the readers.
