1) Keep a book of funny. even if its just a buch of stick notes that you have been colecting for a while, every tim you hear or see some thing funny write it down, you will be amazed at how many times you will laugh at day to day things that get said or done around you.

I've been trying to write humor a lot lately. I can't. It's ridiculous how unfunny I am. It takes days sometimes for me to come up with one line worth keeping.

It's quite possible that I'm just not funny, by some curse of genetics and environment. But rather than face that depressingly likely possibility, I think I'd rather grasp at straws. Do you flesh out basic story, then scenes, then focus on the individual strips, so you know the entire setup before you write it? Do you just write as you go with a general idea of where the story should be taking you?

If you script it out, what format do you find most useful? Just dialog? Something akin to play or screenplay format? Or something else entirely?

I go over tutorials and faqs for other webcomics, and they all seem to say something different. One guy uses his micron whatever, while another prefers the more conventional sharpie.

I've been using a simple gel pen mostly, however I find that when I get into the small details, the runoff from the pen really distorts any of the features. I've been lurking here for a bit, and have had an interest in starting a webcomic for some time. I've actually started the comic, but it's just not something I'm particularly proud of, so I may be scrapping it and starting over.
